Info Fred Deakin – famed as one half of the kings of quirky chill, super group - 'Lemon Jelly' follows 2007's awesome TripTych album with his take on the 'always there but recently emerging' Nu Balearica scene.
Fred Deakin is one half of Lemon jelly has curated a beautiful album that calling it a new take on 'Chill' does not do it justice. It is a blended two cd mix with stunning artwork by Fred himself (who runs the legendary Airside Design Studios). The packaging comes in two card wallets that fold together into a reverse board card slipcase. It is as fine to touch as the music on the album.
This is no small concept album but an essential soundtrack to a scene so important to music that even the Guardian documented its emergence over two full pages recently.
With tracks from Reverso 68, A Mountain of One, Studio, Lindstrom, Prins Thomas, Todd Terje and more, it is an authentic but more so respectful collection of the finest records from the 'Nu Balearica' movement. Expect more in this series of Albums from Fred. This is too good to rest at Volume 1.
